A new report from Rackspace points to a huge need for developers and other IT staff with cloud computing skills. According to the report, “Nearly three quarters of IT decision-makers (71 percent) believe their organizations have lost revenue due to a lack of cloud expertise. On average, this accounts for 5 percent of total global revenue, or $258,188,279 per organization.”
In fact there is so much competition for cloud talent that the survey found it takes 50 percent longer to fill open cloud positions than other types of IT roles. In addition, 40 percent of those surveyed said they were “concerned that they cannot keep pace with cloud technology’s evolution and demands.”
