ObjectVenture will adopt Forte for Java in its ObjectAssembler J2EE visual development environment. The move will expand its support for Hewlett-Packard’s HP Application Server 8.0, according to ObjectVenture.

The company’s Pattern and Component Markup Language (PCML) and ObjectAssembler enable the description and automated use of patterns and components in Java software development. Together, PCML and ObjectAssembler represent first-of-breed approaches to application development and code re-use, ObjectVenture announced.

“We are pleased that ObjectVenture is expanding their support for our HP AS platform,” said Bob Bickel, general manager, HP Middleware Division. “By providing an integrated solution that includes ObjectAssembler optimization for Forte for Java, ObjectVenture ensures that Forte developers using HP AS will have a distinct competitive advantage in bringing their applications to market.”

ObjectAssembler is a J2EE software development environment that provides seamless support for the design, implementation, assembly, and deployment of J2EE applications. By simplifying the development of sophisticated enterprise applications and Web services through visual representations of patterns, components, and assemblies, and automating many tedious, complicated, and error-prone implementation tasks, ObjectAssembler transforms the traditional integrated development environment into an efficient, streamlined development system, the Milford, Mass., company said.

Developers using ObjectAssembler can focus on creating business logic to solve their unique business challenges rather than being preoccupied by the details and minutiae of the underlying infrastructure, a company spokesperson stated. ObjectAssembler supports J2EE’s component-based architecture and comes integrated with both Sun’s Java Center Pattern Catalog and Apache’s Jakarta Struts Framework.

“We are excited at the prospect of offering the Forte developer community a complete, integrated solution for the design, development, assembly, deployment, and execution of enterprise applications at a reasonable price,” said ObjectVenture president Dana Kaufman. “Offering Forte integration will help ObjectAssembler better serve the rapidly expanding Forte developer community.”
