What makes a development product worth its weight in gold?
Is it…
- Performance?
- Reliability?
- Adherence to standards?
- Shortcuts?
- Value?
- Ease of use?
- Security?
- Bells and whistles?
For those who program for a living this gold should be 24 carat. Developer.com wants to acknowledge those development programs and tools that are 24 carat gold. Each year we do that by awarding companies or groups who we, with the help of our readers, feel are worthy to be called a Developer.com Product of the Year 2005.
Nominations for the Product of the Year 2005 contest have begin and will close at the end of the month. See the top of the Developer.com homepage for the nomination link. This gives you a chance to nominate the product you feel should be named Developer.com Product of the Year 2005 in its respective category. The categories this year will be:
- Technology
- Development Tool
- Enterprise Development Tool
- Development Utility
- DBMS or Related Technology
- Wireless Development Product
- Web Service or Related Tool
- Java Tool/Add-in
- .NET Tool/Add-in
- Security Tool/Add-in
- Open Source Tool
The finalists will be named in early January and voting will begin at that time and last until the end of that month.
