As promised, Microsoft has released the final versions of Windows 8, Visual Studio 2012 and .NET 4.5 for developers. The releases will make it possible for developers to create Windows 8 applications for the Windows Store in time for the October release of the updated operating system.

TechNet and MSDN subscribers can immediately download the new tools. Microsoft is also making a 90-trial of Windows 8 available for developers who aren’t members of one of those programs. Visual Studio will become available in various retail stores and websites over the next month. According to Microsoft, the new application development tool “makes it easy to develop on your own or as part of a collaborative team, all the while building apps that target the latest platforms.”
