Why Nokia Failed with Open Source

Richard Hillesley, writing for The H, examines why Nokia's open source Linux-based operating systems failed.

Nokia spent years developing a smartphone operating system, but with little to show for their work in terms of actually shipping products.

Nokia still sells more phones than any other company in the world. However, its recent partnership with Microsoft for Windows Phone 7, and the company's abandonment of open source paint a future of uncertainty for Nokia.
