IBM and Salesforce are expanding their partnership with new coordination between IBM’s Watson cognitive computing platform and Salesforce’s Einstein artificial intelligence. “There is a perfect marriage between Salesforce and IBM,” Rachael Cotton, a senior manager at Autodesk, stated in a press release. “Salesforce is where many companies like Autodesk house enormous amounts of customer data, most of which goes untapped. Combining the AI power of Watson and IBM Cloud with insights from Salesforce has helped Autodesk better understand its customers and ultimately create a transformed customer experience.”

As part of the deal, Salesforce named IBM a preferred cloud services partner, and IBM named Salesforce its preferred customer engagement platform for sales and service. IBM Cloud and Watson will also offer new services for Salesforce’s Quip document collaboration platform and Service Cloud Einstein.
