Android’s security issues are getting more scrutiny thanks to an unusual story: President Trump is continuing to use his personal Android smartphone in the White House. When Trump took office, his security experts issued him a secured device, but a report in The New York Times says that the new president is still using his previous Android phone, reportedly an old Samsung Galaxy S3 or S4, some of the time.

Multiple technology news outlets are running stories highlighting the security risk posed by a president using a consumer-grade device. For the mobile development industry, the end result could be more attention on Android security vulnerabilities.
