LogicMonitor has released the results of a survey of cloud computing influencers conducted at the AWS re:Invent conference. Influencers believe that in the near term, 37 percent of workloads will run on-premises while 31 percent will run in the public cloud. However, in two years, the two could reverse, with 41 percent in the public cloud and 27 percent on-premises.

When it comes to the individual cloud computing vendors, the survey respondents predicted that AWS would grow 18 percent, while Microsoft Azure grows 200 percent and Google Cloud Platform 800 percent. “Will Amazon’s dominance fade at all over the next three years? Spoiler alert: Not at all. But, it will become a more competitive market for public cloud,” blogged Jeff Behl, chief product officer at LogicMonitor.
