Rovio, the mobile development firm behind Angry Birds, has announced that it is laying off 110 workers, or approximately 14 percent of its workforce. It will close its development studio in Tampere, Finland, consolidating Finnish operations in Espoo.

The company released Angry Birds, its 52nd game, in 2009, and after the app’s success, Rovio increased its workforce substantially in 2012. Its expansion into merchandising and animation have not been as profitable as hoped, but an Angry Birds movie is still scheduled for release in 2016.
