According to a new report from salary data solution vendor Paysa, more than one-third of technology workers are underpaid by 10 percent or more. Given that the average pay for a software engineer is $112,000, that means many developers are making at least $11,200 less than they should be.
Paysa came to those conclusion by using machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze more than 5 million resumes in its database.
The study also found that 7 percent of tech pros are due for a promotion and average salary increase of $17,756 within six months. In addition, it revealed that 78 percent of all tech and engineering workers have a compelling reason to move to a new job within six months.
