Facebook-owned Parse has announced that the number of Asian apps using its mobile services increased 90 percent in the first half of 2014. In addition, six Asia-Pacific countries—India, Japan, Australia, China, Taiwan, and Korea—are now among the top fifteen countries with the largest Parse userbases.
This is good news for Facebook, which has struggled to compete with Asian rivals. Parse gives it a revenue stream in the huge Asian market, and it allows the social network to acquire a lot of valuable data on mobile app usage in the region.
