At its annual OpenWorld event, Oracle announced several new cloud-based development tools. They included a managed Kubernetes Service, a private container registry and a continuous integration and delivery service.

In addition, the company announced that it is releasing the Fn serverless computing platform under an open source license. “Like Docker and Kubernetes standards, we want to have a similar serverless capability available as an open standard,” said Bob Quillin, Oracle’s vice president of developer relations for its application development platform.

During the event, the company also announced Cassandra support in its Data Hub Cloud Service, a new Blockchain Cloud Service, an AI-powered chatbot platform and the Oracle Autonomous Database Cloud, which uses machine learning to manage itself.
