In advance of September’s JavaOne conference, Oracle has launched a program it calls “Make the Future Java.” It includes more than 100 different events in 47 different countries, as well as a group of tools Oracle is making available online. The company has also launched a Make the Future Java Global Celebration hub where Java developers can promote events and collaborate with others. In addition, it is holding Make the Future Java Summer Workshops for teenagers with an interest in coding.

“Oracle is committed to not only driving Java platform enhancements and technical innovations through collaboration with the Java community but also providing developers with the tools and resources they need to implement the latest releases,” said Oracle’s Cameron Purdy. “With the Java EE 7 technical kits, we can reach thousands of developers though their local JUGs and with our Summer Workshop, we hope to inspire students’ love of technology and computer science, and spark the next generation of Java innovation.”
