During Tuesday’s Microsoft earnings call, CEO Satya Nadella generated a huge amount of interest when he said, “We will streamline the next version of Windows from three operating systems into one single converged operating system for screens of all sizes.”

ZDNet‘s Mary Jo Foley explains that this comment doesn’t mean that there will be only one Windows SKU. In addition, Microsoft will have a single app store where consumers can buy apps for all of their Windows devices.
