  • By Developer.com Staff

As part of its ongoing efforts to entice developers to build apps for Windows 8, Microsoft has announced a hackathon, which it is calling “Wowzapp 2012.” The worldwide event will take place in more than 60 different cities November 9-11. All developers are welcome to attend, but students will be receiving special attention.

Those who attend the hackathon will receive free versions of Visual Studio 2012 Express and a registration code for submitting apps to the Windows Store. They will also have access to Microsoft app experts, developers and trainers for assistance with the app development process.
