Linus Torvalds' Take on Android
During the recent LinuxCon convention in Vancouver, Linux creator Linus Torvalds took the stage to answer some questions about Android. During the past few years, there has been a lot of debate in the open source community over whether Android is or is not Linux. Android is quite a bit different than most Linux distributions, and the Android drivers haven't been included in the Linux kernel since 2009.
While Android is currently something of a fork of Linux, Torvalds seemed confident that "eventually Android and Linux will come back to a common kernel, but probably not for four to five years." View article
