Lightswitch Gets HTML5 Support

During its annual TechEd conference, Microsoft announced that it was adding HTML5 output capabilities to its Lightswitch rapid-application-development (RAD) tool. The company had previously hinted that it would be adding HTML5 support to Visual Studio. Now it appears that it will follow through by adding HTML5 to Lightswitch, which is included in Visual Studio 2012. Interested developers can test Visual Studio 2012, which is currently in beta.

Microsoft has positioned Lightswitch as a way for non-programmers to create business applications. So far, the tool hasn't attracted many users.
