Google has announced that Spring Cloud is now generally available on its cloud computing platform. Developed in collaboration with Pivotal, the service brings the Spring Framework for Java development to Google Cloud. It leverages Pivotal’s Spring Boot tools to simplify the development and deployment of microservices applications.

A Google blog post on the topic noted, “Spring Cloud lets Java developers write more maintainable applications with less boilerplate code and simpler configuration and that are portable in a hybrid on-premises and cloud-based environment.”
