Google Play is adding a new feature called “Private Channel” that allows enterprises to distribute selected apps to their employees. In order to participate, organizations must be Google Apps customers. Before they can publish internal apps to their Private Channel, the Google Apps administrator will need to enable the Google Play Developer Console for their developers. Employees will access the Private Channel by logging in from an Android device. (Private Channels can’t be accessed from the Web for now.)

“Whether you’ve built a custom expense reporting app for employees or a conference room finder, the Google Play Private Channel is designed to make your organization’s internal apps quick and easy for employees to find,” blogged Google’s Ellie Powers.
