Google has announced a number of new features for its Android platform that could make life easier for mobile development pros. First, it has updated the Android App Bundles feature so that downloads will be 8 percent smaller and take up 16 percent less storage space on a device. In addition, app bundles can now have an installed APK size of up to 500 MB, and Android Studio 3.2 now supports the bundles. Also, app bundles can now include instant apps, making it much easier for developers to support both instant apps and production apps with the same code base.

Other improvements include the ability to build instant apps for premium titles and to publish instant apps for pre-registration campaigns. Crash reporting has also been improved, and the company has also modified subscription billing settings.
