Google has acquired Twitter’s Fabric mobile development platform and hired its developers. The Fabric team will become part of Google’s Developer Products Group and merge with the Firebase development team.

“Fabric and Firebase operate mobile platforms with unique strengths in the market today,” blogged Rich Paret, Fabric’s vice president of engineering. “We’re excited to combine these platforms together to make the best mobile developer platform in the world for app teams.”

Fabric includes popular tools like Crashlytics, MoPub and Digits. Fabrics tools have been downloaded by more than 580,000 mobile development pros.
