Automaker Fiat Chrysler and Google have announced that they are working together on a new in-vehicle technology system called Uconnect. The platform is based on Android 7.0, and it will allow mobile development firms to bring their apps to vehicles. “Google is committed to building Android as a turn-key automotive platform that integrates deeply with the vehicle in a safe and seamless way,” said Patrick Brady, director of android engineering at Google.
Google parent company Alphabet has also been partnering with Fiat Chrysler on its Waymo self-driving car project.
