Furnace Ignite Ltd yesterday announced the launch of the free, open source platform Furnace, which is designed to help developers create advanced, data-intensive apps in hours, breaking through the complexity, expense and extended development cycles long required by data-intensive applications.
“We developed Furnace to ease the time, costs and skills associated with the data streaming development process and we believe the platform offers great benefits to the developer community worldwide,” Furnace Ignite CTO Danny Waite said in a statement.
“The platform has been architected in a way that allows it to be deployed into various infrastructures, be that cloud, on-premise or within hybrid environments, with the ability to ingest huge volumes of data from different sources, in various formats, so developers can take that data and make it usable,” Waite added. “The whole process can be done with speed and agility and removes all the nuances that are normally associated with working with streaming data.”
