In a new blog post, Facebook is touting its open source record. The company says it has added 54 new open source projects in the first half of 2016 and more than a dozen of those have more than 500 followers. Quite a few of those projects are developments tools. They include Draft.js, a React-based rich text editor; ReDex, a bytecode optimizer that helps mobile development firms make their Android apps smaller and faster; Memory Bundle, which tracks memory usage in iOS apps; Torchnet, sample code and other tools related to artificial intelligence; and Reason, an interface for the OCAMl programming language.

Facebook developer advocate Christine Abernathy blogged, “So far this year, our number of followers has increased by 35 percent and we’ve seen a nearly 50 percent rise in total forks. We’re proud of the work we’ve done, but as we like to say, this journey is still only 1 percent finished.”
