Employers Can't Find Enough .NET Developers

According to online job site Dice.com, .NET job postings are up 25 percent over last year, with approximately 10,000 postings for .NET developers currently on the site. Among those searching Dice.com for resumes with .NET experience, 46 percent were looking for job candidates with 4-7 years' experience, 27 percent for 0-3 years' experience, and 21 percent for 8-10 years' experience.

Dice.com believes there may be a shortage of .NET developers because they traditionally don't earn as much as other types of developers. The average .NET developer makes $83,000 per year, compared to $91,000 for a Java developer. However, the company says that is likely to change if employers can't find the candidates they need for .NET jobs.
