DevOps Toolmakers Rake in Funding

Three different DevOps tool vendors have announced significant new funding. CloudBees, which offers tools based on the open source Jenkins project, brought in the most funding of the three: $62 million. The capital came from Delta-v Capital, Golub Capital’s Late Stage Lending, Matrix Partners, Lightspeed Ventures, Unusual Ventures and Verizon Ventures. This brings the company's total funding to more than $100 million.

Puppet, known for its automation server, has raised $42 million in additional funding, bringing its total to $150 million. It says it now has more than 40,000 customers, “including more than 75 percent of the Fortune 100.”

The least well known of the three, Codefresh, makes a continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) platform for organizations that also rely on Kubernetes. It has raised $8 million, bringing its total funding to $15.1 million. It has 20,000 users.
