Apple’s annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) kicked off on Monday with a host of announcements that could be important to developers. The most significant could be that it is opening up Siri to outside developers. In addition, Siri will be coming to the Apple Watch and Macs as well as iOS devices. Other key news included the following:

  • OS X is being rebranded as macOS, and it has been updated.
  • iOS 10 will bring feature improvements including updated messaging and Maps.
  • Apple also updated watchOS and tvOS.
  • The App Store now has 2 million apps that have been downloaded 130 billion times, and the mobile development industry has earned $50 billion from the iOS platform.
