Apple is increasing UK App Store prices by 25 percent as a result of currency fluctuations following “Brexit,” the country’s vote to leave the European Union. Previously, the cheapest price for apps in the UK was £0.79, and they will now cost £0.99. Similarly, the price for Super Mario Run climbed from £7.99 to £9.99.
The company has also adjusted pricing tiers for India and Turkey. In a statement, it said, “Price tiers on the App Store are set internationally on the basis of several factors, including currency exchange rates, business practices, taxes, and the cost of doing business. These factors vary from region to region and over time.”
