Building Web applications that run on any device with a Web browser is great, but when it comes to mobile devices, you need access to the hardware.

Well now the open source Symbian mobile operating system includes PhoneGap.

PhoneGap is an open source development framework for building cross-platform mobile apps which run on Symbian as well as iPhone, iPad, Google Android, Palm and Blackberry.

PhoneGap supports WRT 1.1 and implements the following APIs: geolocation, accelerometer, camera, vibration, Contacts, SMS, sounds, orientation change, storage and network availability.
