Oracle to Cut Sun's Open Source Offerings

The Inquirer's Nick Farrell used the word "cunning" twice in today's story discussing Oracle's plan to scale back Sun's open source products.

"Word on the street is that Oracle wants to move Solaris back to being proprietary and revenue generating," Farrell reported.

He said that Oracle appears to be more excited about Java and positioning itself in the middleware marketplace.

"Its cunning plan seems to be to turn itself into a sort of database oriented IBM," Farrell said.
