Pinterest and Apple have teamed up on a new product that may make it easier for users to find mobile apps. Called “App Pins,” the service allows iOS users to download apps directly from Pinterest without having to go to the App Store first. “We can be a really powerful service for app discovery, which is a problem that still really hasn’t been solved,” said Pinterest co-founder Evan Sharp. “Our specialty is really connecting people to the things they want to do.”

In addition, Apple will set up its own Pinterest account highlighting noteworthy apps. The company says the lineup of apps will vary over time and may include selections made by “guest pinners.”
