Google has pushed out an update for Android Studio, its suite of mobile development tools. Android Studio 3.1 includes a new C++ CPU performance profiler, which can help developers identify bugs in the code that are slowing performance. For apps written in Kotlin, it now enables Lint code quality checks from the command line. The IDE also has better support for the SQLite and Room databases.

Other enhancements to the mobile development suite include the D8 dexer by default, an updated build output window, IntelliJ Idea 3.3, better controls for Quick Boot, a frameless mode for the device emulator and an updated Network Profiler.
