In a blog post, Amazon has offered some advice for Appstore developers who are concerned about code theft. The company recommends that app developers obfuscate their code with a tool like Proguard, which also reduces file size and boosts performance.

However, the company warns that apps with in-app purchasing require special handling. Specifically, developers should not obfuscate the methods for calling and providing information about purchase requests.
