According to Phoronix, a 13-line Git commit to the Mesa mainline dramatically boosts Sandy Bridge Linux performance.

Michael Larabel reports that it’s this Git commit on March 1 by Intel’s Zou Nan hai that made all of the difference.

“It is a relatively straightforward and simple patch,” Larabel said, “but how it affects the OpenGL performance is dramatic.”
