Amazon Cloud Drive is your personal hard drive in the cloud. Store your music, videos, photos, and documents on Amazon’s secure servers. All you need is a web browser to upload, download, and access your files from any computer.
Amazon Cloud Drive is a relatively simple cloud service that provides storage. You can access 5GB of space at no cost, or scale up to larger amounts of storage at a higher price.

Amazon sells a number of different files that you can download including MP3 music files. By offering the Cloud Drive, they give their users a location to store those files easily. This simple extension to what they offer can help make it easier for customers and thus potentially drive additional sales.

Of course, the Cloud Drive seems to be a simple use of the Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3). You can tap into the FIRST 5gb of S3 for free as well, so using it you could create your own “Cloud Drive” type application. You would need to watch the number of requests to the drive or you could end up hitting levels of usage that require payment.
