But if you don't have a Java/Java EE background, the course may not be as instructive for you as it could be. I found that most of my students were not as lucky as I was, since they don’t have a Java/JEE background. Instead, they are usually assigned WebSphere Application Server administration on top of their other tasks such database administration or system administration.
