Zend Launches Phpcloud.com
At the ZendCon conference, Zend unveiled phpcloud.com, a new platform as a service (PaaS) for PHP development. Unlike most of its competitors, phpcloud.com allows developers to choose their own infrastructure provider for deployment of applications: Amazon Web Services, IBM SmartCloud, Rackspace, Red Hat OpenShift or a private cloud. The PaaS is based on Zend Application Fabric, a set of tools for configuring and managing virtual workloads. It also includes advanced debugging capabilities.
For now the service is available on a limited basis as a free technology preview.
