Apple has released the dates and location for its highly anticipated annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC). This year, the event will take place June 5–9 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose. The venue marks a change for WWDC, which in recent years has been held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Observers note that San Jose is much closer to Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, and that it is less expensive than San Francisco.

Reports indicate that about 5,000 developers will be able to attend and that ticket prices will be around $1,599. Those interested in attending can register beginning March 27. The actual attendees will be selected by lottery.
