Wolfram Claims New Language Completely Changes Programming

Stephen Wolfram, the mathematical genius behind the company Wolfram Research, has announced a new programming language known as "Wolfram." In a sense, Wolfram isn't really new, because it's the backbone of the Mathematica and Wolfram Alpha applications. However, the inventor says the language is now ready to be released on its own after thirty years of development.

He makes plenty of big claims about the new language. Wolfram calls it a "knowledge based" language with lots of information about the world built in. He says it's the largest programming language ever, and that it's so easy to use, people can use it to write complex applications very quickly with just a few lines of code.

However, some detractors claim the language doesn't really do anything new. In addition, the language is proprietary, meaning that anyone who wants to use it will have to pay Wolfram. It isn't available for sale yet, but the company has released a demo of what it can do.
