At the end of its first full month on the market, Windows 10 was running on 5.21 percent of desktop PCs, according to data from Net Applications. By comparison, Windows 7 had 57 percent of the market, and Apple’s OS X had 4.76 percent of the market.
In August, Microsoft announced that 75 million devices were running Windows 10 and that 1.5 million were running the enterprise version of the OS.
Windows 10 is available as a free upgrade for systems currently running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.
