Treehouse to Give Away $3 Million Worth of Coding Classes
As part of its mission to teach the world to code, Treehouse has announced a plan to give away $3 million worth of subscriptions to its online programming classes. The scholarships are available for 2,500 college students. To be eligible, applicants must be able to prove they are college students and have a valid .edu e-mail address. The scholarships will pay for two years of "Gold" level access to Treehouse classes.
Treehouse currently has 12,000 paying customers between the ages of 7 to 50. They say one of their subscribers completed the training program in less than a year and now makes more than $4,000 per month as a mobile developer.
