The Linux Foundation Yanks Java from Linux Standard Base 4.1
Java is no longer included in the Linux Standard Base distribution.
Java used to be included under the "trial use" status, but now the Linux Foundation has pulled it completely because licensing issues for the compliance test suite "make it impossible to include Java as a language."
