Survey Finds Limited Benefit from Partial DevOps Adoption

A new survey commissioned by monitoring software vendor New Relic finds that enterprise application development teams with a high degree of DevOps adoption see significantly more benefit than organizations with partial adoption. High DevOps users saw a 57 percent increase in communication between teams, a 30 percent reduction in development cycles, 44 percent faster bug resolution and 44 percent higher application uptime. By comparison, low DevOps users reported only a 23 percent improvement in communication between teams, 14 percent shorter development cycles, 20 percent faster bug resolution and 22 percent improvement in application uptime.

“The message is clear: effective DevOps requires an all-in approach,” the report said.
