Several Chromebook owners are reporting that when they open their settings, they briefly see an option that reads, “Enable Android apps to run on your Chromebook.” The text goes away before users can click on it, but the unusual message is leading some to speculate that Google could soon add Google Play support to Chromebooks.

Bolstering that theory, some users also found a string of text in the Chrome OS source code which says,"Choose from over a million apps and games on Google Play to install and use on your Chromebook."

Some are speculating that Google could announce Chromebook support for Google Play and Android apps at May’s I/O developer conference.
