At its BlackBerry Jam Americas conference, RIM encouraged developers to stick with the platform and promised that BlackBerry 10 is coming soon and will be full of great features. In the meantime, it released a Dev Alpha B handset that runs the new mobile operating system, and it also gave up more details about changes to App World. Specifically, App World will soon offer music, movies and television shows for download (no streaming). Developers with early access to BlackBerry 10 will be able to see the changes to the app store right away, but they won’t be able to make purchases yet.

At the event, RIM also showed a music video featuring RIM execs covering REO Speedwagon’s “Keep on Loving You.” The video quickly went viral, although at least one tweeter opined, “Sadly this video is better than any BB ever released.”
