In response to a survey which found that BlackBerry developers are leaving the platform in droves, RIM’s VP of developer relations, Alec Saunders, has published a blog post that disputes the findings. According to Saunders, the number of app developers in BlackBerry App World has grown by 157 percent this year, and the store has added 15,000 new PlayBook apps.

“I was pretty shocked by the findings,” Saunders blogged. “I was shocked because the numbers in the report do not gel with what we’re seeing in the real world.” He added that many developers have been “amazed” by BlackBerry 10.
