The Uptime Institute has released the results of a new survey which found that one-third of data-center professionals and IT practitioners plan to deploy workloads to cloud computing services in the next year. Currently, only 13 percent of IT resources are in the cloud. Other key findings from the survey include the following:
- 67 percent of respondents said they have seen workloads that would normally run in internal data centers move to public cloud computing environments.
- 25 percent of respondents experienced a data center outage in the past year.
- 60 percent of respondents measure the cost of downtime.
