Red Hat Obfuscates Kernel Source
In an apparent attempt to trip up Oracle, Red Hat is now obfuscating its kernel source code and patches for Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Red Hat has yet to comment on the change, but according to The H, "sources with an intimate knowledge of Red Hat's operations confirmed" that the obfuscation is taking place and it is intended to make life more difficult for downstream consumers, specifically Oracle.
But Oracle isn't the only downstream user of Red Hat Enterprise Linux - CentOS and Scientific Linux are based on RHEL.
