Nokia announced yesterday, that the Symbian Foundation will no longer be in charge of the open source Symbian smartphone operating system.
“Nokia has taken control of the Symbian smartphone operating system from the Symbian Foundation,” ITWire’s Stuart Corner reported, “the body it set up two years ago after buying out other partners in Symbian and making the software open source.”
The Symbian Foundation will now only be responsible for matters of licensing and intellectual property.
