New ARM Tool Promises Faster-than-Java Android Performance

ARM has launched a new Android development toolkit that promises to speed application performance. Development Studio 5 (DS-5) Community Edition (CE) offers a group of SDK and NDK tools that can help applications run four times faster than Java code on Android. It also includes tools for debugging and application performance analysis.

According to ARM's John Carnish, "ARM DS-5 Community Edition offers developers an easy-to-use environment for debugging and optimizing C/C++ code. This allows them to take full advantage of ARM processor technology using native code to deliver the performance and functionality that consumers demand."
